Rick Nizam’s view on life

Greedy Fly from the album “Razorblade Suitcase” by Bush
Listening to all the old stuff from back in the day. As much as I try to get up to date with the music scene of today, there’s hardly any new bands I am really interested in. I go back to the stuff I listened to from 5 years back but none of the new bands (i.e. My Chemical Romance etc.) Probably not the new genre music fad, or rather I just don’t get hooked to punkish ones I guess. I’d have to admit I didn’t really begin with metal or bands like Metallica or Sepultura when I started to really listen to music. I started with bands like Oasis, Weezer and the like. I was an alternative head then I went to rock or was it “nu-metal” (Korn, Incubus, Limp Bizkit (3 dollar bill ya’ll) etc.) Slipknot started then it progressed to bands like Tool, Soulfly… the more progressive metal or whatever you call it. Oh yeah…not to forget the whole hip-hop phase before Korn & Co. Now that’s an interesting story!! Hahahahaha….rap…hip hop….damn…I was into that back in the day. Wu-tang and Bone Thugs rocks though. Ya gotta admit Tupac, Wu, Bone, Cypress Hill and less gangsta like Mos Def were (and still is) tha bomb!!

As of now, metal has been in my main bloodstream. I have moments where I listen to more mainstream stuff so not purely metalhead. The new Christina Aguilera kicks ass!! :P

What are you listening to?
